The Flagship Hot Air Balloon Team was formed in September 2019 when we bought G-FLAG, a historic hot air balloon, out of a barn where she had been stored for the last 12 years. We restored the balloon and put her back into the sky.

Our primary pilot, Justin Phillips, holds a Full CAA PPL / BPL licence and has been flying since 2013. He has also been involved with the ballooning community, offering crewing services, since 1994. In addition to G-FLAG, the Flagship Hot Air Balloon Team owns two other balloons: G-CGUD, a beautiful multi-coloured balloon, and G-BVCA, our largest balloon, sponsored by Unipart.

G-CGUD is our everyday balloon and has many flying hours left in her life. G-FLAG is our leading historic balloon, which will make special appearances at various balloon festivals and air shows worldwide. G-BVCA makes a very rare appearance, generally for a night glow, as this was Justin's first-ever balloon to learn to fly in.
